How to Learn to Relax When You Are Too Busy to Take a Break
contributed post By Mark Fradley
When you are a busy dad, juggling work or your business and child care, it might be hard to remember to take care of number one. You will feel like there are simply not enough hours in a day, and you are too tired to do anything at night. That is why you will need to find quick and easy ways to relax and recharge your batteries, without turning to self medication. Below you will find some advice on how to do just that.
It is important that you make time when you don’t have any. Look at your schedule and see if you are spending your days the way you want to. You are supposed to be relaxing and recharging your batteries for a few hours, but if you don’t know where the day has gone at 10 p.m., it might be time to stop and think where you can find time. Maybe you will have to change your priorities, so you can get more of the good stuff and spend less time procrastinating or doing things that don’t serve your mental health.
Manage Your Workload
No matter if you are an employee, or are running your business, there is always a way to manage your workload. For example, you can automate some of the processes, program the washing machine, or save time commuting. If you are running a blog, you might be wasting time on managing your social media without results, and you can automate and measure engagement using simple tools.
You will have to find time to socialize, so you can connect with your friends and take part in the adult world. It is all fine to spend time with your kids, but at the end of the day you should have some people to listen to you and to have an adult conversation with. No matter if you are planning a night out, going to see Eminem, or having a gaming night in, you will have to drop the weight sometimes.
Instead of just being a part of everyday life for your kids, you will need to try to create memories together. Do you remember when your father took you camping for the first time, or your first baseball match? How could you forget it? You simply cannot be too busy to create memories with your kids. Find something that they can relate to, and watch them smile. This is the best thing that can happen to you as a parent.
If you would like to practice self care, but don’t really have the time, you can turn to audios. When your mind keeps on spinning after going to bed, try to clear your head. Meditation can be powerful, and it will also help you sleep better.
When parents are too busy to listen or to create memories, their kids will feel more stressed. Support your own mental health and your children’s by having more quality time with them and yourself.
