My Grandchildren Told me, Cardi B used my Sample "I Like it like That"

When you do music for generations to come, that even your grandchildren can enjoy that’s success.  If you're living under a rock and don't know about the Hottest Song out right now, let me remind you.

Cardi B debut album "Invasion of Privacy" broke mad records even before  it's released. Cardi came out the gate with fire, with hits after hits. She uses many samples from different artist like Lauryn Hill (on “Be Careful”); Nicki Minaj and Da’ Dip by Freak Nasty on “Bodak Yellow”; and La Chat and Three 6 Mafia (on “Bicken Head”). However, the most recognizable sample  and clearly the best song on the album is by Pete Rodriguez’s “I Like it Like That” on Cardi B’s “I Like It.” featuring Bad Bunny and J Balvin. Instance "Classic".

The King of Boogaloo, Pete Rodriguez, who is 86 years old today  had long put his song to bed even though it’s  played here and there on the radio.

Rodriguez said that it was his grandkids that told him his song was a hit again. In a interview he had with Entertainment weekly.

“My kids and grandkids called me and texted me about it,” Rodriguez said to EW. “We recorded [the original] in 1967, so it’s come a long way.”

The track was originally written by Tony Pabon and Manny Rodriguez, but it was boogaloo musician Pete Rodriguez that made it into a hit back in 1967. Now Cardi B brought it back for another round of success.

Mr Rodriguez your Dad Swag just went up like 💯!

Pete Rodriguez just performed it a couple of years back. Big salute to Cardi B for giving

Latin music legends  another shot at the charts. Should be a hint to other Latin artists.
